I tried the audiobook, didn't like it so switched to ebook at Chapter 2. I read to Chapter 4 of the ebook, got really frustrated with the immaturity of the protagonists, and started skimming through. I read the first page or so of each chapter, and unfortunately it didn't seem to get any better. The main conflict was super contrived and literally the MFC's BFFs both tell her in Chapter 3 that she should just communicate and talk about her frustrations with her husband, and MFC decides that it's too late for that and she'd rather play stupid games. To be fair, her husband wasn't any better either. For me, this wasn't even enjoyable as a turn-your-brain-off kind of trashy historical romance. I won't be continuing with the series.

4 // This was such a treat!! By far one of my favorite new adult romances (if it can be classified as such).

This was our May book club pick to celebrate the return of Bridgerton. It def had the same kind of feels as that series and I enjoyed it! Granted the whole book is based off a big miscommunication. 🙃 But it was still good! I’m def going to need a break before I continue the series so I don’t get burnt out on regency romances.

Some laugh out loud funny bits between the leads and am overall light, easy read.
