This book was excellent. Having just moved back to the US from the UK, I related to so much of what he said and even teared up at the end when he talked about how difficult it was initially to move back (I'm currently living that reality). Though it is a bit dated having been written 20+ years ago, I found myself enjoying the nostalgia of things mentioned too. I also laughed so hard at many of his rants.

Honorable mentions--
The insane words used at a fancy restaurants to describe food
Winter activities for the uncoordinated
Turning into your parents
Old school roadtrip delights
The pain of filling out tax forms

If you're over the age of 30, just read it. I promise you'll love it.

I didn't expect to like this book, because I'm used to his "travel" books, but I thoroughly enjoyed it! A must read if you're a Bryson fan!

Fairly toothless, but it made me chuckle every now and then. Not quite as dated as I'd assumed it would be.

Bryson's short pieces were part of a weekly newspaper column. This doesn't constitute a book so much as a compilation of those articles.

Read this for book club. It felt dated at times but it was also nice to see how things have changed. Also, disturbing to notice that some things have not changed. He does have a nice, not over the top sense of humor.
