3.5 maybe. If I would have reviewed it right away, it probably would have been a 4. But it's been a few days and I've mostly forgotten it. This author is hit or miss, so yay, I finished it?
It was engaging enough to read in one sitting but as stated, not that memorable. I also barely remembered one of the other couples but it wasn't a huge deal. I think the other couple's book was a DNF. I'd say you'd be OK reading this as a standalone.
This type is pretty predictable, it's just a matter of what's gonna serve as the angst.

I've tried a few MQ books in the past that I couldn't get into but this one was so cute. I loved Breaker and Lia right from the start. The way they met and became besties in college was so sweet and I really enjoyed their friendship and all their cute, nerdy, adorable moments together. Having recently re-watched My Best Friend's Wedding, I especially loved that aspect of this tale, but more so because I knew that the besties were actually endgame and were meant for a great HEA. I think one of my favorite moments was wedding dress shopping. I also appreciated that it never really felt like a love triangle (which is not my thing) because it was so clear that Brian was just not it. I know I read it out of order by taking on this one first but I'm excited to go back and read about the other brothers, especially after enjoying their dynamic in this one.

This was such an adorable story! I loved everything about this one. Breaker is definitely my favorite Cane brother, hands down! Nerdy? Funny? Sweet?Sexy as fuck? Check, Check, Check, & Check! Lia was super relatable and it was great getting to see her realize what she really needs in her life, and standing up for herself and what she deserves. Truly such an adorable and funny and sexy read! It's a bit of a slow burn but oh man does it BURN! A must read, but definitely read the first 2 first! I'm so interested to read about the other couples mentioned in this one! Banner and Penn
