I don't understand what happened in this

Blah. Another Pinter. I liked this one more than Homecoming. How the only form of communication that works is interrogation- the lack of intimate listening, of sharing space in empathetic ways. Playing house. Grown men as children. Strangers in the house.

I'm not sure I got more than half of what was going on, but it was innovative and interesting for sure.

At first I didn't know what to think. I had never really been a fan of the whole "absurdist fiction" genre, mostly because I'd never actually read much of it. All I knew was that it mostly explored the ideas of existence from a nihilistic perspective, which I have an aversion to mostly. Regardless, I was pleasantly surprised because by the end of Act III, I was absolutely in love! I'm not exactly sure why I like it so much, and I don't even know if I will like other pieces of absurdist work, all I know is that while reading this play, I was extremely entertained and was enraptured by the aura that it emitted. Something about the round-about dialogue, the awkward pauses, the mysterious characters, and the quaint sea-side town the story is situated on, just harmonized so well together to create this atmosphere of discomfort yet familiarity, like I had experienced this before. Which I guess is kind of the point. The overwhelming cocktail of nostalgia and confusion made this play absolutely unforgettable. 10 out of 10, I most definitely would recommend.

Although, it has its perks, the play begins with an undeniable mundaneness. The mysterious wordplay in the secondact does grip the reader for a time, but the end, the third act, doesn't seem so different from the first, meaning it too is a little to mundane.

Preface: I read this for school.

This is the worst thing I have ever laid eyes on. I realize there's some deeper meaning but I don't care to see it. This play is 80% corn flakes (for some reason) and angst. I hated it, this almost made me want to quit my program.
