This is less a review on this specific book, and more the trilogy as a whole.
I really enjoyed this book. Opal made me roll my eyes a few times, but at the end of the day, I found her a likeable character. I was a little confused with the backstory details that, I'm assuming, take place in the Study trilogy as I have not read them and didn't see anything indicating that these books followed a different series, but those details were, again, backstory that, while important, didn't affect my overall understanding of the story.
Sadly, the first book was the best of the three, and the end of this trilogy left me extremely unsatisfied. This book I would possibly revisit, and I'm curious to see what other books Maria V. Snyder has written, particularly the aforementioned Study series, but books two and three I will pass on rereading. This book, I would likely give three stars to, but my impression of the three as a whole is lowering my rating to a two.

Another hit :) I personally will put Maria Snyder as my favorite fantasy author of all time. She is truely a gifted author and this book just only further demonstrates her skill. Storm glass is a great new branch off of the study series and is totally original in comparison to anything I've read before. The idea of glass magic alone was incredibly fascinating. I'm already anticipating sea glass. Its just such a great series. Read them all!
After reading the Study series, I was excited to start the Glass series - it's in the same universe and about Opal Cowen, a character from the Study series. I have to say I really loved this book more than I even thought. More than the original series, even. Very excited to start the sequel, Sea Glass.

I really wanted to like this, but why are all the characters so unlikeable? Everyone's so whiney and focusing on boy troubles instead of an interesting storyline. It did improve when the Poison Study characters started appearing though and it was definitely really easy to read.

As usual, Maria V. Snyder gives us another fantastic book! I enjoyed reading about Opal and her story. I'm very glad that some of the characters from the Poison Study Series were brought back and that this book builds off of that series. I also liked reading and learning about glass blowing...very interesting! Can't wait to read the next one in the series!

I enjoyed this one but not as much as Poison Study. I really wanted to read more about Opal since her appearance in Yelena's stories. The info about glass blowing was fascinating. I have put the next two books on hold at the library, and I can't wait to see where Opal's story goes.

- Didn't like Ulrick at all, thought he was kind of abusive
- Felt like 3 books in one???

Edit: Stick to the main series, this spinoff is terrible. It will be a disgusting experience.
Oh please... don't let this become a love confusion continue into the next book. That's the only thing holding it back from 4 stars. Love triangles, even when a minor part of the story, just kill me.
