This could be your typical "boy wants a dog and is constantly bullied by the neighbor" story. Only when you pair it with [b:The Bully of Barkham Street|998976|The Bully of Barkham Street|Mary Stolz|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1180107581s/998976.jpg|598313], you see that there is much more going on here. A very nice story on its own, but even better when you read both books.
