Very fun. I love all of the characters but especially the protag Marzana, whose social anxiety is a major part of the plot and respected instead of a gimmick like mental illness usually is in MG. It was fun that Milo, the protag of the main series, was barely present in this one. Marzie really got to shine.

Yes love - this was super fun!! Love the way the crew got together and the story evolved. I really think Kate Milford could write some great adult mystery / fantasy books.

Maybe it was because I was taking too much time in between reading, but the book was too complicated for light reading. I know it’s supposed to be a standalone, but they reference a lot of things and drop a lot of names that are not relevant to the plot, and I was having a hard time following.

The back cover says this is a standalone and it is definitely not. I haven't read any of the other Greenglass House books and I was very confused. The pace was too slow for my taste. I got halfway through and was too bored to finish.

Even reading this as an adult, I enjoyed it. I was vaguely familiar with the earlier books, but didn't need any of that info to follow the plot or characters.

Got an ARC from a friend (from whose hands I snatched it). It's very twisty and eccentric and wonderful, like all Kate Milford's writing. I did find the first third a touch slow, but once you're past that it's awesome. I would suggest reading the first two Greenglass House books first, but it's not vital, just helps fill out some of the details if you know the characters from the first two already.

I enjoyed this one a bit better than the last in the series. The mystery and puzzles were engaging, but I again found myself wishing there was not quite so much book and that things were moving along a bit quicker.

I still really enjoyed this, but it felt a lot slower than the first two books. It also wasn’t set in Greenglass house which I think made it feel like it was dragging a bit.
