ehhhh still trying to disentangle what i liked and what i didn't. plot pacing got worse, the characters i'd loved in the first book were mostly offscreen, the girl-on-girl hate and poor incorporation of russian culture into the worldbuilding killed me. but the writing got more profound, and i found myself feeling and grieving with alina, especially at the end.
