The Hypnotist by Lars Kepler is a well-written crime/thriller novel. It begins with an entire family murdered with only the teenager son found barely alive in the crime scene. Thinking that the murderer plans to wipe out the entire family, police detective Joona Linna contacts trauma neurologist Erik Maria Bark to "hypnotise" the young boy to get information regarding the killer, and catch him before the eldest sister is killed. From there on the novel evolves into not only catching the killer, but also a kidnapping case, a mysterious young gang of adolescents, and the novel also delves deeper in the hypnotist's own troubled past. Although the killer is revealed in the first chapters of the novel, this novel will give plenty more twists that will surely keep you hooked! Awesome read, highly recommended!
