Hated to see it end but devoured it all the same! Excellent addition to the series!!!

I hadn't realised I'd started this.
Made up for it by finishing in a few days once I realised.
And, yes. I have bought the next one and am looking forward to a return to the Saltmarsh

The Galloway series is always a comfortable enjoyable read, with characters I’ve grown to love. And this is another good book addition.

I don’t why I’ve never reviewed one of the Ruth Galloway books by Elly Griffiths before. After all this book, The Lantern Men, is the twelfth in the series. A couple of years ago I read my way through about eight of them in quick succession. Yep I was hooked from the first book and had to quench my thirst. It’s rare for a series to catch me the way this one did.

Ruth Galloway is a forensic archaeologist working in Norfolk, where the books are set. She works hand in glove with Harry Nelson, A DCI from the local force. I guess I can give a spoiler here, but they have a complicated relationship which is where Ruth’s daughter came from

The move to Cambridge really didn’t work for me in this one, as the gang barely interacted. Not much Cathbad and only a cameo from Clough. And it’s hard not to feel bad for Frank.
