The smutt is OK, the story in general is not that bad, but... Aistiane is a friking villain, and the fact that everyone seems to condone her actions is worrisome.
SpoilerI mean, her plan is to KIDNAP HUMANS and basically FORCE them to mate with the elves (because no matter how they put it, once the bond is started, there's absolutely no choice, and at some point it's implied that merely by meeting the other person the bond starts to form), and everyone is like "Meh, no problem". She can manipulate events and people (and continuously does) and yet everyone trusts her, and the only commetary on that is "I hope she's careful" (WTF?); she said she can force Eamon and Andrian to do whatever she wants (and does at one point), so I still don't understand why the elves follow her willingly. Even Andrian mentions that his convertion to darkindred (oops, sorry, graykindred now) wasn't what Aistiane had promised it would be, so... why does he still trust her?

Aristiane also works as a Deus Ex Machina device to solve any problems the characters may have, which takes a lot of the tension from the story, and makes it kinda boring, because you know she's going to solve the mundane stuff. The "fish out of the water" element that should be there since Eamon and Andrian are on a place they know nothing about doesn't play a role in the story (partly because of Aistiane); they just adjust perfectly even when Caralyn worries about it non-stop.
At least the romance made sense, and Eamon's redemption arc worked, though there are som unnecessary scenes here and there (for exmple, the whole thing with the ex-boyfriend).
