I had a pretty good time for most of the novel(except for the parts where blake was being an ass). I think the twist was pretty predictable, but for some reason I didn't see it coming . What made it lose stars for me was just that I hated being in the mind of Blake Porter. He's obviously not a great person and I didn't enjoy him sexualizing all the women in this book.

I would have rated this book 4.0 stars had the middle not been drawn out as much. The ending was not predictable.

🐠 The Tenant by Freida McFadden 🐠

MY RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

Blake Porter’s life unravels after he’s abruptly fired and can’t afford his new brownstone. Desperate, he and his girlfriend, Krista, rent a room to Whitney—charming, beautiful, and seemingly perfect.
But soon, strange smells, eerie noises, and unsettling neighbors hint that something’s wrong.
By the time he realizes the danger is inside his own home, it’s already too late.

While I enjoyed reading this, I don’t think it was great. It was a quick and fast paced read with lots of plot twists, but I found them to be quite predictable. The characters also all sucked. There were so many ways this book could have ended that I felt would have been stronger, but overall, it was enjoyable to read. Also - Justice for Goldie!!!

Read this if you like:
  • roommate thriller
  • plot twists
  • unhinged characters

Song that matches the vibe: the “Don’t Be Suspicious” sound from TikTok
