A book that deals with depression in a hilarious way. I didn't really know that could be done.
This was such a fun light hearted read in between lectures kind of book.
I didn't know about her blog until I read some of the reviews, will definitely follow it.
I would give it a higher rating except that I did not like how it was sort of scattered and I think a bit repetitive, also for me it sort of lost it's charm by the end.
But overall, an enjoyable read.

Yeah, it was ok. If you've never read her stuff, do check this out. If you have, probably you don't need to read the book.
I love Allie Brosh. I do. And I knew this was going to have a lot of stuff I'd already read in the blog (but ages ago! I waited so long to read this partly in hopes of forgetting that stuff so it'd be fresh again!). I think all I wanted was one solid LOL from a bit I didn't remember reading before. The goose story came close, but didn't get there. And the new introspective bits weren't as insightful as the posts on depression I'd already seen online.
So now I feel like I've let down someone I've never met because I didn't like Allie's book, but at least this feels like a problem she'd have sympathy for.

'Simple' dog. R word dog. Train your dog or put it down. This entire book put me off.

Context: My brain broke finishing Earthlings and Dahlgen in the same month.

TLDR:  It made me laugh out loud several times. It’s okay to judge me.

Owning a number of rescues over the decades, I appreciated The Simple Dog and the Helper Dog and the other 2 dog essays. I felt Motivation and This is Why I Will Never Be an Adult to my bones. I understood Identity Parts 1 and 2 all too well.

It did take some time to appreciate the Rage Comic style of the illustrations but they went well with the essays.

What can I say, a book where I laugh out loud while reading is rare for me. Maybe my sense of humour is broke?

Despite several of the stories being direct from her blog, this book is still worth the price. Allie's storytelling is very personal, but her doubts, depression and inner turmoil speak to most of us. Laugh out loud funny. I highly recommend.

Some parts made me laugh until I cried. Some parts were so brutally honest it was scary. I loved it all.
