Disturbing. Male victims share graphic details of their secual assault by a female serial rapist. Some parts are written like a poem/spoken word, which I understand is meant to emphasize emotions, but lost me. Wasn't into it.

This was difficult. The subject matter, the writing style & the pacing. It was very chaotic. Doing the audio version was helpful & it set the tone of the medias portrayal of victims as it was done in full production style.

If I recommend this it would only be the audio version

What the actual f*ck was that?

This book made my stomach physically hurt and it was genuinely distressing so many times. There was no point in which I said to myself, “I know exactly where this is going.”

With each new part, I was wondering if I was supposed to be entertained or introspective or confused. Really the only thing I was able to piece together was the profound bits that made me go “wow, that is absolutely some real life sh*t women deal with on a daily basis,” and I know that’s really the point here. Men don’t deal with the same scary things that women do and aren’t forced to face the public and their criticisms if they want any justice for the crimes done to them. This is an alternative view of this world ( a really weirdly written one).

anyone that has given this lower than a four MUST listen to the audiobook. it changes the entire understanding of it. when i attempted to just read it was a little too experimental, but listening to different voices of the different point of views added so much depth and heartbreak. i absolutely devoured this and was amazed at how much it moved me. would highly suggest this audiobook to maybe sway your mind.
