I was craving light and fluffy, and that's what this was. I liked the characters, I liked the banter, the plot was absurd. Would recommend to anyone in a fluffy mood.

This was a pleasantly surprisingly good book. I wasn’t sure how much I would like it, so I was happy that I really did.

I liked both Alexa and Nick. They were frustrating at times, but I liked their chemistry. Alexa was feisty, and Nick was in denial, but they both got along really well. And the smut, of which there was a surprising amount, was really good. I wasn’t expecting as much as there was, but I was pleasantly surprised with that.

Mostly, this was a very romance-focused book, with little else. Some minor focus on other characters, but there was a lot of Alexa and Nick, and the two of them together. A lot of cute, and sexy, moments together. It made the book go by very quickly, and really pulled me in, though, which I liked.

The reason why the rating isn’t a solid four (or higher), though, is that I don’t think there was enough development. Not enough depth to the characters, not enough focus on the other parts of their lives. There was just something more that was missing.

But otherwise, this was a very enjoyable book. And I will definitely be picking up another of Probst’s books when I get the chance.

Both a fierce & fiery read! [4 stars]

This is a relatively short romance that was a book that I definitely do not regret picking up.

It began with a list of the things they both wanted, or possibly needed. The lists? Couldn't be anymore contradictory. The same goes for the two people who wrote them.
Alexa needed money to help support her family, but was too proud to admit it. Nick Ryan needed a wife to have full control of his business, left to him by his late uncle. Hence, Jennifer Probst’s hot & heavy story begins.

Of course, further emotional torment ensues to complicate matters further, mixed with a bunch of amazing adult scenes that gave me butterflies.

Alexa (our main female protagonist) is an instantaneously likeable character, both relatable & not a push-over, which is definitely one of my favourite type of character when written well (which she is!). She isn't afraid to voice her opinions or shy away from a verbal disagreement in order to avoid confrontation, which I think is helped by the childhood friendship between Alexa and Nick, the story's love interest.

Nick, to begin with, is slightly hard to like, but watching the development within himself & between him & the main character is definitely an interesting & worthwhile aspect of the story. Definitely a new fictional crush for me!

I also loved the way this book was written, which is something I don't usually mention. It switches between a third person limited viewpoint, varying between the two main characters to give the reader apt justification for why they react the way that they do (which is crucial in understanding Nick's behaviour).

If you enjoy the breaking-in-the-middle-of-an-argument-to-kiss-trope, then there's a few amazing parts in here that fit that specific description that'll leave you smiling!

Though there were little things I didn’t like here and there, they were definitely in the minority compared to the large majority I was completely enthralled by. If you’re looking for a short, quick, steamy read thats gives you tingles and another fictional couple to root for, I say go for it, and I'm positive you won’t regret it.

Nick and Alexa were a cute couple for this story. The story itself wasn't too original, rich billionaire needs to marry in order to inherit family business, and not so rich woman needs money to save her family home. They get married and the rich Nick tries his very hardest to keep it platonic but of course his intense attraction for Alexa and hers for him mean that they have sex and eventually feelings get thrown into the mix. And of course Nick tries to fight his growing feelings for her but then because of his horrid upbringing and terrible parents, he feels that marriage and love do not exist and he does not want either of them. So of course he makes stupid mistakes before finally having a revelation that leads to his happily ever after with Alexa.

There was nothing special about this book. It was pretty forgettable. There were some cute coupley moments, but overall just okay.

Not too bad, standard fare but nothing to write home about. It reminded me a little of the old mills & boon novels with miscommunications, secrets, and stupid pride at the forefront of a relationship with great sex, which magically manages to come good for the hea ending.

This book was cute and short. The characters we're like able but it was like any other new adult/ya/romance novel that I read that had a precise beginning, the conflict, and the makeup. But it was cute. I love stories when childhood friends end up together.
