Had to read this book for class and didn’t expect to like it as much as I did. It reads like a movie and you can visualize everything so easily as you read. Physical comedy is also played with amazingly even while they tackle serious topics.

Just finished Deacon King Kong, which just sank into me. The writing is wonderful. The characters so vivid, so perfectly placed in New York in 1969. The story of a man, his dead wife, his community and his sense of something needing to be done without knowing exactly what he’s doing. I loved this book so, so much.
