The Game Changer by Lana Ferguson
⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
I've read all of Lana's books and I have enjoyed them all ☺️ this one was no exception!
I found the start to be a bit slow but once I hit 100 ish pages it really picked up 😀
Lila and Ian are such lovely characters and I was rooting for them. I love Lila's brother, he's an absolute hoot 🤣 I need more of Ian's sister Abby too. Preferably of them together ❤️
All in all it was another really good read and I would definitely recommend 👌

📝 This was a great read! It went by really quickly, but it was all enjoyable. This is my first by this author, and I'll definitely be checking out more of her stuff! I liked the story, although the minor "reveal" did seem pretty obvious from early on. There was drama, there was spice, there was childhood crush fulfillment, what more could you want?
🎧 This was dual POV with two narrators (switching off, not duet). I really liked both of them. They did an excellent job as actors and you could really feel the emotion in each scene. And the spice spiced with both of them.
🌶️4.5/5 a few explicit scenes that were pretty 🥵 especially with the narrators' performances.
🏳️🌈✊While the MCs were white and straight, there was a fair amount of both racial and lgbtqia+ diversity in the side characters.

Graphic: Cursing, Emotional abuse, Sexual content, and Toxic relationship
Moderate: Infidelity, Panic attacks/disorders, and Abandonment
Minor: Biphobia, Homophobia, Misogyny, Terminal illness, Violence, Grief, Car accident, and Death of parent
Infidelity CW is for a side character, not either of the MCs.jessmoguel's review against another edition

I’d read more books by the author. Was hoping for some grittier drama ~ but there’s an awful lot of wholesome support by multiple characters so solid all around. This is a fake dating romance and childhood crush to lovers romance. Fake dating is like the whole plot except for some issues between Ian and his dad.

That was delightful! I'm sad it took me so long to read. The characters felt well thought out and all had personalities of their own.
I love the no third act break up and also how the conflict for the book was resolved. I even teared up at the end.

this was cute! loved that there was no miscommunication/third act breakup that a lot of romcom books have.
i’m interested to see if we get a jack book next!
