Great premise, I was thoroughly looking forward to this one and thoroughly enjoyed it until Moody old Terrin, who was meant to be a most masterful master, started to pander to his new 'pet' and the submissive pet, who of course is a virgin, orders people around like the Prince he is.
The ending is quick, and doesn't connect with what we know about Chalice's family from the beginning of the story. I was hoping for a slightly darker BDSM read, given the title but that's just me.
it almost felt as if the author checked her page count, realised this one was getting a bit long and tied it all up quickly in a nice sweet HEA bow because it was the first one in the series and she wanted to get onto the next.

flat-out horrendous.
rushed, incoherent, and far too dependent on breezily throwaway explanations instead of actual scene-setting, description, or visuals.
less a narrative than a series of notes.
nowhere near enough story for a novel, and not enough sex to be erotica—so what in the fuck did i just read?
i've no idea, but it gave me neither feelz nor boners.
