An easy enjoyable read, pretty close/stating true to the original myth- just filling in the gaps -and erring on the lighter versions

Overall it's an interesting telling of a myth I didn't really know. I liked learning about the character and the take kn their journey and interactions. The best part of the story is the beginning and Atalanta's early life. Where the book falls down is that a large part of it (the voyage of the Argos) is, by the books own admission, a bit boring? I'm just not sure enough really happened to carry momentum.

This is possibly one of my favourite Jennifer Saint books now. I felt like the conclusion was very satisfying and Atalanta as a character, though frustrating at times, still felt whole and compelling enough for me to continue reading. I felt the build-up to the conclusion was slightly dull compared to the rest of the story so the loss of momentum there means I have to dock a star but overall this was a very speedy and pleasant read which gave me some enjoyment from name-spotting mythological characters and learning something new/ seeing how Saint interpreted their stories to fit her narrative. Very fun, and I'm glad to have learnt of the female Argonaut as Atalanta is a name we should be discussing more.
