Armistice Runner

informative inspiring reflective fast-paced

It's a delighsful casual book that parallels the story of an athletic runner and her grandfather who got drafted to a war which discusses about family, friendship and what it means to have a competition, good book if you want a light read.

I loved this book. I think children will find the book very accessible as they can use something they’re probably familiar with and take it to the context of WW1 .

Whilst not written as a novel for adults, this book still resonates clearly with my age, through an emotional and engaging story about memories and family. The protagonist is a teenager named Lily who, after visiting her elderly and vulnerable grandmother, uncovers the truth about her family, the War and their history of running in the Fells. Palmer creates an intricate and thoughtful plot that all ages can enjoy.

Superb! Tom Palmer does it every time. This is a beautifully written story about a young girl and her ancestors. The storyline with her gran is also very real and quite emotional. A must read.
