I love figure skating, and I love Keira Andrews, so I figured this one would be a slam dunk for me! Unfortunately, this was a rare miss from this author. I felt that there was just wasn't enough time spent between the guys getting to know each other. It starts out with Dev having Mikhail, then they are screaming at each other in the locker room, which of course turns into getting off on each other. We end up 36% into the story, on our third sexual encounter between the two, and the only words that have been exchanged thus far was the earlier fight. So, for me anyway, there wasn't enough getting to know each other, basically, not enough plot and substance. Sadly, this is barely worth 3 stars for me.

I love sports romances, and this was another great one. It was originally two novellas that Keira Andrews put together into one book. I had not previously read either novella, so this was an entirely new story for me, and I loved it. I've read many of her books, and she never disappoints. I definitely recommend this to anyone who loves a good sports romance.

The book is good, I just got stressed about the inevitable conflict. May come back to it.

This is a wonderful book about the world of pairs figure skating and while setting and the characters involved in the story pull you in, the relationship seems a bit lacking. Dev, the American, and Mikhail, the Russian, both figure skaters think of each other as the enemy. But after a skate, they have scorching sex in the locker room. Although both are gay, Mikhail hides who he is because of the country he lives in, but I didn't really understand Dev's reason.
The story, the setting, and the premise are wonderfully set up, but I didn't feel a true connection between the two main protagonists. Their relationship seemed like an after thought and in a quick read such as Cold War, it was a bit jarring. The secondary characters, especially's Dev's skate partner and best friend, stand out, but I was missing the romance.

In honor of The Winter Olympics, I was happy to read a romance of two ice skaters finding love off the ice. Enemies to lovers so quickly and passionately. And oh so romantic.
Dev hates the perfect, yet cold man that makes up the Russian pair who consistently wins the gold. Until one day in the locker room, hate becomes lust and passion. From that day on the two get closer, even despite their rivalry on the ice. And it's quite the rivalry. But, ultimately love wins because yes.
I really loved this pairing and their story. I also loved the side characters involved, especially Bailey and Kisa.

It had its moments but the pacing was kinda odd. Sweet though. And the first time they kiss… yowza.
Moderate: Injury/Injury detail
Minor: Homophobia
