This novella didn’t need to exist. The original miscommunication was dumb. They wouldn’t talk to each other. The FMC had no personality and was unlikable. Ended on a cliffhanger and I have no interest in continuing. This was the most tedious, stressful part of a third act breakup released as a book. With no reward.

Also, the word verbal-omitted doesn’t work. It’s not a cute way to say word vomit. It literally made my brain stutter and wonder why words were being left out while he was thinking. I took another star away just for that idiocy.

I received a copy of this book for free.

I liked this a lot. I’m currently in a hockey romance phase so this was good but I read the blurb for book 2 and there’s a pregnancy trope in it so sadly I won’t be continuing the story.

Enjoyed this, left me wanting a lot more (so diving straight into the next book)

For an 80 page book we got introduced to so many different characters I was low-key confused who was who the whole time

Also I guess with the length of book it wasn't fully possible but I felt like the character development wasn't fully there and I couldn't fully understand why they made the decisions that they did - again leaving me wanting more

- sports adjacent (aka he plays for a hockey team but apart from them watching a game no sports happens)
- second chance
- friends to lovers (kinda)
- intro novella to series

This was my first by Stacey Lynn and it won't be my last. It was a super quick read as it was a novella, and I devoured it. I instantly bought the rest in the series as I was already so invested in these attractive athletes and the women who love them. Pick this one up if you love a steamy sports romance.

This is free on google playbook and this novella was just a prequel so we have to read the first book in the series to know this couple's HEA ending.

Nice to see what actually happened with Garrett and Lizzie prior to the first book. I like back stories, and this one was a great primer.

A decent, albeit forgettable second chance romance.
