It was good and exactly what I expected. It made me laugh which is I think the most important thing here.
This... was sure something. I'm honestly quite surprised that I don't see more criticism in reviews about the amount of unnecessarily offensive jokes/comments made throughout the book. Many chapters started with the words, "I know this isn't the most tasteful, but I have lots of friends who are _____, so I think I can make fun of it." At first I attributed it to the book being from 2011, giving it the benefit of the doubt for just being outdated. Even if this is true, I was uncomfortable enough reading this book to not be interested in investigating any further with of Kaling's other books. Aside from her tendency to "dance the line of being offensive," as Shangela might put it, I just didn't find a lot of it very insightful or inspiring. So, this was a big miss for me. I'm sad to see another memoir/biography reduce my opinion of a celebrity, but I'm afraid it is what it is.
This was a group of blog posts, not a book..... But it was sweet and enjoyable. I love Bostonians and The Office!

This is the first book I checked out from the library to read on my Kindle. The process was super easy, and I am looking forward to doing that for a lot of books. Libraries rule!!
I like Mindy Kaling a lot, and coming on the heels of reading Tina Fey and Amy Poehler's books, I found this one really enjoyable. Like Fey and Poehler's memoirs, Mindy's is delightful and funny, and not filled with a lot of gossipy material, and I really appreciate that. Kaling's voice is unmistakable in this read, and I am excited to read Why Not Me, and for The Mindy Project to come back.

I completely loved this book... Mindy has successfully become my best friend in this book, I am so excited for her!!
Mostly exactly what I expected. Only qualm was with her opinions on men - only because the sweeping generalizations are annoying. But it was Mindy-tastic.
