Thanks to Corinna at Penguin Random House for sending me an advanced proof of this book!

As soon as I started reading this book, I was gripped; I wanted to know who all the characters were, how they were linked, and some of these questions were not answered until towards the end of the book, which kept me constantly guessing. It was frustrating, but in a good way; I just wanted to keep reading to know what was going to happen next!

I must admit, I haven’t read any of Jane Corry’s books before, but she’s now an author whose books I will look into more.

‘The Dead Ex’ is full of so many twists and turns, it’s a perfect dark, psychological read!

Intense, dramatic and sad with an unpredictable ending.

This was soo good. More twists than a rollercoaster, with the added benefit of not feeling motion sick at this end of it!
I will most definitely be looking for more books to read by Jane Corry in the future.

despite the multiple POVs, transitioning between the different POVs was surprisingly seamless and not at all confusing. at first, i was curious about how the various storylines would intertwine, but when the connections were finally revealed, it was done beautifully, and i found the experience captivating. 🥰

additionally, this book provided valuable insights into epilepsy and the lives of individuals in prison, adding depth and educational value to the narrative. 👏

ps: the book's title doesn't quite match the story, which might cause readers to expect something different from what the book actually delivers. this could lead to a disconnect between what readers think the book is about and what it really covers. 😒
