It was pretty good but it mostly felt like a lot of filler up until the last few chapters. A lot of it was very predictable like Lila and Kell having to fight in the tournament and Kell getting arrested. Also I don’t really like how they just dropped that Alucard and Rhy are basically cousins and they are messing around with each other :/ hope something explains all that in the next book. Also Lila’s inner dialogue is actually insufferable and if I have to read “I’m one of a kind” or “I am Delilah Bard” I might smash my head in. Overall I don’t really like Lila as a character. Her refusal to take anyone’s advice even when they are giving out of concern for her life is so infuriating and then she had the audacity to be shocked when something bad does happen. Ojka and Hollands chapters were really boring honestly. But it was still an enjoyable book and definitely not the worst book I’ve ever read

There’s something to be said when you finish a book and jump right into the next one to see what happens next. To say I’m hooked is an understatement!

Plot: love it, intricate yet clear.
Setting: the setting still interesting! Love the idea of these different London’s coexisting in a parred universe fashion.
Characters: love them, especially Bard (girl power...am I right?). Really enjoyed Rhy and the relationship building with all the characters as well.
Ending: uhhhhh...holding my breath...need...book...3!

With all of that said I’ll report on book 3 (ACOL) soon hopefully.

The pacing was off, but I love these characters.

I can't stand the character Kell...plus 10 pgs of them going to a party it was worse than the first book.
