My average rating for the whole collection was 4.02 and my feelings on it reflect that number. I thought it was an interesting mix of contemporary/real-world-based stories and stories with otherworldly elements to them. My favorites were Light, Who Will Greet You at Home, and What is a Volcano? The whole collection felt very cohesive and like all the stories had a purpose, even though some were less interesting to me. I listened to the audiobook while reading along with the physical and I thought the narrator did a wonderful job. A strong collection overall that offers interesting insights regarding relationships and life.

I am utterly unmoved by this book and this is confusing because its comes so highly rated, especially my Good Read friends whose opinion I highly value.

You never know what you're going to get when you start one of LNA's stories. Some are historical, some are futuristic. She shifts easily from mundane observations to inventive science fiction or, my favorite, fantastical takes in our own mundane reality. "Who Will Greet You at Home" and "What It Means When a Man Falls from the Sky" are both exceptional examples of this.

This was a light read, or what I call a "transit" read before I move on to something more substantial. Some stories were more engaging than others for me. The author writes with much candor, which I appreciated. The magical realism balances out the rather dark themes covered in these stories.
