I’m being kind with a 2. Slow, stilted language, nothing about this book drew me in. I did finish it, because I kept thinking something was there. Longest book I’ve ever read at about 200 pages.

I had no knowledge of the plot line coming in so I was a bit confused at first not knowing each chapter is its own story. I love books like that - centered around a particular place with only slightly overlapping chapters. Thoroughly enjoyable once I settled in.
