It was pretty good. I felt like I got dropped into the middle of the story though. I guess there was a series I should have read first? Something that was more 'entry' before 're-entry'?

I picked this up after enjoying Kelly Thompson's West Coast Avengers books.

I've never read any Captain Marvel before and try to stay clear of Marvel's main continuity but this does a good job bringing me up to speed on things I need to know about the character. I hope in the future it doesn't require too much knowledge of what's going on with big crossover-type stuff.

So far I like Thompson's writing and I think the interior illustration style goes well with it. (I wouldn't mind a Jeff the Land Shark cameo.)

On its own, this volume is “pretty good”, but knowing everything it’s setting-up lean’s it over into “great” territory.

Thompson is poised to join the ranks of the best Carol writers...

Individual issues read.
I'm not sure how much this paperback collects. The description says the first 6 issues but the first 5 are an arc and issue 6 starts a new arc ...

Regardless, this should be a must for fans of the movie or of Kelly Thompson. She continues her great streak of great character work, fun crazed plots and warmth and humor.

Gorgeous art and a Rogue and Captain Marvel confrontation, this book has everything.
