Cute story but too many story lines in a short book. Was lacking character development.

UG, so I decided this would be a good short read to accompany me on my walk. Short yes, good not so much. Repetitive and boring, and all three sisters had relationship troubles. The best thing about this book was the food descriptions. It gets one star because I did finish it but yeesh not the least bit memorable.

2 of the 3 sisters in the book don't have jobs other than working part-time at the restaurant.  One was a teacher & the other is married to a wealthy man (from whom she separates).  Yet besides work all they do is go out to other restaurants.  I guess I shouldn't be surprised with "The Restaurant" being the actual title, but hearing them talk about this place or that place was very repetitive.   I don't think anyone in group had anything to drink except alcohol and an occasional glass of water. No tea, milk, soda.  Only alcohol.  I'm not a prude and don't mind the occasional drink or social drinking, but dang - every meal. If anyone's ever watched Bar Rescue, Jon Taffer would have lost him mind over how much food/drink was consumed by employees.  Maybe I'm being picky.  Anyway, I didn't find the characters to be lovable or despicable either.  They were all good people, just nothing in the ploy really made me want to root for them. Overall, pretty predictable.  I gave it 3.5 stars because of my mixed feelings on the end.  I wouldn't say the book ended on a cliffhanger, but the lack of closure has me deciding the try Book #2 Christmas.  The back cover synopsis doesn't have the sisters names' listed correctly...so we shall see.

Author’s style was very juvenile. It reminded me of how a fifth or sixth grader would write. It wasn’t a bad story at all. Sure, you know exactly what’s gonna happen by the end of the first chapter but that’s how rom-coms are right?

My biggest problem with this book was definitely the writing. There was a lot of unnecessary description and the dialogue was excruciating. I also have zero shits about Jill. Sorry. I found that Mandy and Emma were more interesting and dimensional characters. Now remember that none of the characters are particularly deep here. I actually adored Grams quite a bit.

If this story had been written by a different author with more spunk who explored the mystery of Grams owning the restaurant more I think I really would’ve liked this book. I also think it would have been interesting to tell the story through different POVs for each chapter.

The characters fell flat for the most part and the plot was lacking often.

Had lots of potential.

This was a book, not terrible not fantastic but easy read. Her characters are a little flat but it was a nice easy read. Nothing too strenuous but I did put it down for a bit with all the talk of cheating and divorce.
