Such a sweet book with lots of little gems. He was such a caring and compassionate person and had some great things to say. One of those books that will always be a "pick me up" when life wears you down.

I was never a huge Mr. Rogers fan but I did use to watch it every so often. I knew they use to have great quotes and morals. This was just full of great things! One of those quick feel good type of books!!

A wonderful collection of Mr. Rogers quotes on the courage to be yourself, understanding love, the challenges of inner discipline, and of course, being a neighbor. Mr. Rogers’ words continue to provide wisdom for the quiet, the scary, the small, the confusing, and all the present moments in between. Throughout the past year I crafted mantras around quotes from this book, and my days were richer for it.

A friend gifted me this book when I moved back to Cincinnati in January, and it read it a few quotes at a time over the past year. I'm so grateful for this gift; it has set the tone for my year in so many ways.

Look, we all love Mr. Rogers. This collection will only affirm that.

A few favorites:

"The world needs a sense of worth, and it will achieve it only by its people feeling that they are worthwhile."

"You rarely have time for everything you want in this life, so you need to make choices. And hopefully your choices can come from a deep sense of who you are."

"Deep within us -- no matter who we are -- there lives a feeling of wanting to be lovable, of wanting to be the kind of person that others like to be with. And the greatest thing we can do is to let people know that they are loved and capable of loving."

"Listening is where love begins: listening to ourselves and then to our neighbors."

“Whether we're a preschooler or a young teen, a graduating college senior or a retired person, we human beings all want to know that we're acceptable, that our being alive somehow makes a difference in the lives of others.”

The quotes in this book may be simple, but many were lighthearted reminders that I needed.

Mister Rogers was the sage of his age. I miss him and will never forget his wisdom. This book captures some of it.
