I very much enjoyed this, and think that friends who liked Dealing With Dragons would like this too. (Also, just read everything by Ursula Vernon; Dragonbreath and Hamster Princess are particularly excellent when you are sick or are too stressed out to read anything aimed at people over the age of twelve.)

I am a bit jealous I don't live in the village next to Castle Hangnail and Molly. A solid story that is fun and interesting how the village is friendly to the castle minions.

Quite sweet. Perfect for those creepy little 8-year old girls who are kind but want to be friends with bats, love the color black, and dream of witchy powers.

I tend not to rate books written for kids that I read for the first time as an adult, but I have to make an exception for this one. It's got everything - a friendly diurnal bat, assorted cranky/neurotic/lovable minions, magical tasks, a climactic battle, lots of humor, a good story arc that has an appropriate amount of resolution after the climax... go read it!

Eigentlich hat es vier Sterne verdient und sie nur nicht bekommen, weil ich nicht mehr zehn bin. Es ist eine niedliche Geschichte, in der alles mit nur sehr kleinen Umwegen gut ausgeht. Eine feuerspeiende Fledermaus kommt vor.

Such a fun book! Loved the minions and the main character, Molly! Great book for middle grade readers. Loved it.
