Oh yes it was scary and yes it was up and down with the tension. I can confess that in the end I skipped some pages only to get to the end. But overall, I fine horror book.

An enormous amount of boring scene setting and character background for a few bright moments of genuinely interesting stuff (Reed and whatshisname, Tamsin and Jorie, Elitha and the voices)

A fictional account of the very real tragedy of the Donner Party. It blends the supernatural with its history. Highly recommend.
