This was a very entertaining comic, especially considering thus is apparently the first thing the artist/writer has produced. Generally I don't care too much about serial killer narratives but the hook of incongruously adorable anthropomorphic animals paired with brutal, vivisection heavy kills and eerily calm killer POV is quite successful. Would I have enjoyed this nearly as much if the characters were human? Nope, which kinda reveals the cheapness of the ploy but if it works it works.
There's some things that don't hold up/become confusing under deeper inspection (there are animal animals AND anthropomorphic ones? is the killer just embracing their brutal animal nature?) but the book moves in a way that glosses over these kind of questions as it's more concerned with being a story machine than a character study.
Good bloody adorable fun.
