Gorgeous art, darker than I was expecting but I’m here for it. Made my heart race more than once even though I read it in the middle of a bright summer day. Might be fucked up for a while from some of these images ngl but worth it. #SupportWomensWrongs

I really enjoyed this comic as a character study of two very different types of killers, and I would certainly recommend it for fans of media like Dexter and the Scream franchise. We focus on Samantha Strong, a bear who runs the local hardware store and is a beloved figure in the quiet, sleepy town of Woodbrook. No one would ever suspect she's a serial killer responsible for the disappearances of dozens of people in the nearby city. At least, not until someone new begins killing the citizens of her town, and Samantha is called to stop it. Not because she actually cares for her fellow townspeople, but because this new person is fucking up her set up.

I enjoyed this book because the premise and the art style is so idyllic and sweet-- certainly reminiscent of Richard Scarry's Busytown-- but offset with the watercolor splashes of gore and anatomically accurate viscera. I do say-- my only complaint is that this was so short!

I am certainly excited for the upcoming sequel!
