It's a fast read and a page turner, and has a lot of fantastic, unexpected turns, but ultimately it's about a white guy coming to appreciate his family. Which is OK I guess? At least I can move the book out of my house.

Well, this book was interesting. I really don’t know what to say about it. I felt like I was on acid for most of the book.
It's like a very rough draft of a Nick Harkaway book. Interesting premise that is completely beyond this authors ability to pull off. Probably the best thing he had ever written though.
Strange, but not in an effortless way. In my opinion, it tries too hard to be unpredictable and in doing so doesn't surprise at all. It isn't especially well-written, and the prose and sentence structure can become monotonous. The main character isn't someone I really cared to root for, and I was given no reason to care about his plight.

This is the weirdest freaking book I have ever read. Hands down. While I'm not sure the end justified the journey... I CAN say that I did not guess the ending (I had many theories, though) and was very satisfied with the conclusion.
This is the most bizarre book I have ever read. It read like I imagine an acid trip would be. I couldn’t quite figure out how it would end and when it did I was scratching my head. This book included talking a talking crab, an attractive female giant, and many other unlikely things including seeds that become what you need whenever you need it.
