**5-Star Review of *Hunting Adeline* by H.D. Carlton**
*Wow. What a read! H.D. Carlton has outdone herself with *Hunting Adeline*, a dark, twisty, and utterly gripping tale that pulls you in from the very first page and refuses to let go. If you’re a fan of dark romance, then you’ll be blown away by this one. It's as chilling as it is captivating, with an intensity that will keep you turning pages deep into the night.*
The characters in this book are remarkable. Adeline, as the heroine, is strong and resilient despite the darkness that surrounds her, and the way she navigates her complicated and intense relationship with Zade is both thrilling and heartbreaking. Carlton has done an incredible job of creating a male lead who is dark, magnetic, and morally complex, making the romance between him and Adeline dangerously addictive.
Beyond the romance, the suspense is brilliantly executed. Carlton has a knack for building tension and weaving in twists that kept me guessing, with a storyline that's both beautifully dark and full of surprises. The writing itself is atmospheric, almost cinematic – you feel every emotion, every fear, every thrill.
I highly recommend *Hunting Adeline* to anyone who loves a dark romance with psychological depth, intense characters, and a plot that’s as unpredictable as it is thrilling. Carlton has truly created a masterpiece with this one, and I’ll be thinking about Adeline and Zade for a long time. Five stars aren’t enough!

i'm lost and torn. I didn't enjoy reading a lot of it, it's rather sickening but also it was a good read. it had moments where i was kicking my feet, laughing, sobbing and feeling violently nauseous. I was traumatised before but am sure as hell traumatised now. It's such a fucked up book and it's so morally wrong in SO many ways but it was a good read. Adeline's character growth was slay she became a bad bitch and slayed those pervs as she should but like my brain the whole time during reading the two books was what the fuck what the fuck what the fuck you know?
yo wtf. seriously big wtf.
the only part I genuinely enjoyed of this was when Addie pulled the gun on Zade and was absolutely losing it. It was incredibly well-written and really heartbreaking. But god do I wish this had ended with Zade dead and Addie back in control of her life. Instead, her life is basically ruined now so. Anyway.

i absolutely hated this worst book ever literally what
also way too dark for me
also way too dark for me
The first half or so of this book was really rough. I didn’t think they’d go there despite the content warnings I’d read, figuring anything that happened would just be alluded to. Oof. And I was very wrong thinking that Zade would be gentle with Abby after all she went through. I mean I guess he was in some instances, but not in the areas you’d think would cause more trauma if mishandled. Sigh. I guess I’ve found my limit within this genre, which is a good thing for future reading.
The second half was definitely better because of Sibby, my new crazy fave. She needs her own story. She’s why this book gets the extra star.

Holy moly, check your trigger warnings indeed! But also there were some things I expected to be worse than they were so there’s that.
While I appreciate what Addie and Zade have, I don’t fully understand it because it’s not my reality. I don’t know that I could have consensual S&M sex any amount of time after having been trafficked.
This book was quite a ride, engrossing writing as always, and is a satisfying conclusion to Addie and Zade’s story. Although they did introduce a new character in the last chapter? I don’t know how we’re gonna learn what that’s about; I guess I have to go read all the Novellas now.
