Dark & twisted doesn’t even begin to describe these books - and yet I’m having withdrawals. I can’t say I was a huge fan of Zade in Haunting, but the character development and the relationship in Hunting has me obsessed with him and the empowerment he gives Addie in this book. I had multiple friends say to stick it out and read the second one and I’m so glad I did.
The author warns that there is NOT any happiness for the first half of the book and she was not kidding. It’s absolutely devastating for a good chunk of the book.

BUT - Zade & Addie’s relationship in the last half …. Holy f*ck.

I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone. But did I enjoy it? Yes. It was a much harder read than the first one. This book was very Heavy, full of trauma and tragedy. Nonetheless, it was real and provoking. It definitely shed light to the cruel and heinous aspects of the world we live in. I felt extremely for Addie. She didn't deserve all the hardships she went through, and I am so proud of who she became in the end. I do appreciate the author for showing how hard and unrealistic it is to be able to go back to "normal" after going through trauma. I also think this book did a good job of showing the love Z had for A without sex being involved or overly involved-especially with the nature of Addie's trauma. This book would definitely not be for everyone. Take caution. Also, Z has an insane God complex. AND I need an update on Sybil!
