The Jewish theme has been widely exploited both by writers and Hollywood producers, and honestly, when I am reading a book description, as soon as the terms Jew, Holocaust, Nazi come up, I quit. However, this book got my attention, on the one hand, because of the theme of memory that interests me so much, and on the other because of the plot of... Come on! A Jew working as a tour guide in a concentration camp?! I liked how the main character changes slowly throughout the story and I liked the way the book makes us question how necessary the preservation of this kind of place is, as the main character tells us: "... hateful places breed hate".
