The banter between Spider and Reyna is soo good. I slapped my leg so many times with their banter.

Brutal Vows is, without question, one of the best books I’ve read this year. The pacing is sharp, the writing smooth and immersive, and the banter—chef’s kiss. Add to that the blessed absence of a third-act breakup, and I couldn’t have asked for more.

This is the kind of book where you genuinely love both main characters. Reyna and Quinn have undeniable chemistry, but beyond that, they’re individually compelling. Their relationship is built on mutual respect, space, wit, and fierce loyalty. The banter between them is electric, but it never comes at the expense of emotional depth.

One line that completely wrecked me:“Viper. My lovely, lethal wife. You’re fucking perfect, inside and out. Don’t ever worry about disappointing me. You couldn’t. Even when you’re homicidal or hurling insults, you take my breath away.”
If that doesn’t make you melt, this might not be the book for you.

For all the people out there recommending mafia romances with the classic line, “If you loved The Made Series, read this”—this is the book they should be pushing. It hits all the right notes: intensity, intimacy, danger, and love that feels earned.

Every character served a purpose, and not a single chapter felt like filler. The supporting cast was well-developed, the world felt alive, and the plot kept moving with satisfying momentum. One tiny wish? I wouldn’t have minded a more drawn-out, brutal end for Reyna’s ex—but I admit the way it was handled added a layer of realism that grounded the story.

I also appreciated how well this works as a standalone. It made me immediately curious about the other couples without ever letting them steal the spotlight. In fact, I’m already diving into the earlier books in the series.

Spider 😭😭😭 loved him in the other books and I’m so glad he got his HEA. I ate this one up! The best book of this monsters series. I LOVED Reyna. She was such a badass FMC and I liked that the author had her be the boss lady instead of a meek girl being held hostage. The q&a at the end was a little odd… but overall I enjoyed it for the genre it was! Smutty, mob romance!

Sexual tension x10 + banter + hate + enemies either benefits = perfection🥵🫠

I'm a bit sad to say goodbye to these characters. The snark and banter and love... All the feels. I hope there will be more as the bonus chapter alluded to, I'll be patiently waiting....
