Bad writing. No character development. Plot all over the place until I was bored to tears trying to slog through to find something of interest to be invested in. Overall just terrible execution of what sounded like a great story.

Non male, ma si vede che si tratta del primo libro dell'autore. Worldbuilding e sistema magico sono interessanti, ma alcuni elementi sono un po' caotici e non si capiscono bene. La premessa è piuttosto banale, però ha un grande potenziale perché c'è una speranza di originalità.
I personaggi non mi dispiacciono, vorrei solo vedere più personaggi femminili. E magari un'attenzione maggiore per le scene di battaglia, quella che ho letto nel finale è troppo affrettata.
Insomma, così così. Un libro con elementi buoni e altri un po' meno, ma devo dire che come prima opera non ci si può lamentare.

Honestly tempting to give it 5 stars but withholding just due it being a little hard to follow in places! I have spent many hours practically rereading the book to remind myself of a name that was dropped in the beginning and then suddenly is part of a big reveal or new mystery at some other point!😂
THOROUGHLY entertaining read though and honestly I think one of the strongest first books in a series I’ve read.
World building was insane, the complex politics, power and class dynamics, cultures and the storyline were just chefs kiss.
The characters were super entertaining and likeable - I’m so exited to read more of them in the next two books.
The plot in places (mostly the end) honestly had my jaw dropping involuntarily. It felt like watching one of those TV shows that has you theorising like crazy in between episodes. My brain was all over the place trying to piece clues together throughout. Masterful Easter egg and hint dropping.
This book deserves way more attention than it gets.
