Started well. Liked some of the ideas as to the world building but ultimately felt it too rushed towards a grand finale

3.5 stars for The Shadow of What Was Lost.

I enjoyed the plot of this book.  Good action scenes, pacing worked pretty well.

The main characters (Davian, Wirr, Asha, and Caeden) were just okay.  I had no feeling for what The Blind were (Walking Dead?, Monsters?) Not much characterization which is why I knocked off 1 1/2 stars.

Settings were very interesting- I especially enjoyed the part in Deilannis.

This was worthwhile.  I’ll pick up the next book, An Echo of Things to Come, at some point.  I have a lot of other books to get to first though.

I really enjoyed the book. The best I could describe the feeling I had while reading is like I was watching a TV show. I liked that there was a lot of action and lore, it never felt boring but I would have appreciated more character and world building, because I feel like I can’t imagine what the they look like. The only thing I’m sure about is that the main characters are teenagers. And that kind of threw me off. I also didn’t completely understand how the magic system works, and I’m hoping that it will be better explained throughout the next books, otherwise I am really invested in the story and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

I loved this book! I think the characters are well developed and interesting. The story is fast paced but not overwhelming. There are a lot of elements to the story but they are rolled out slowly making sure you understand what's going on before introducing new important story elements! It made me so excited to keep reading to see what would happen next. I can't wait to finish the series! The only thing I would say is that a lot of names of the characters and places are similar which can be confusing but other than that I loved this story so far!
