Pacing was really slow and i often found myself not engaged with the story, but I’ll keep readin! The twist at the end was pretty darn good

For a book that was self-published at first, The Shadow of What Was Lost kept me engaged and addicted until the last page. The magic was neat and the characters were interesting. Although I would agree that the book doesn't differ from other epic fantasy books much in the premise, I loved pretty much every moment of the plot. Although the writing in the book wasn't as mature as something by Brandon Sanderson, it had very similar vibes. Overall, I'd recommend to anyone who wants an easy fantasy series with some awesome characters (looking at you Asha).
