I absolutely loved Ely and Alex!

I loved the first book in the series and was happy to see Ana and Liam again here in this story as well.

The character development was great. I really felt for Alex when he opened up about his depression. I loved how he went back to painting again after getting the help he needed from a therapist.

The youth program was amazing and i am glad we got to see some of that as well. I loved how Ely and Alex were helping Celeste out when she opened up about her bad work experience.

All in all, another great novel. I can’t wait to read the new books in the other series that are in the making

I love grumpy-sunshine and exasperated man tropes, as well as stern-ness in the MMC (without the "good girl" talk). I like that the plot deals with depression and treatment, and that the character has a few moments of figuring out if being a little aloof is his personality or the depression or both.

I LOOOOOOVED THIS BOOK! Workplace romance books are one of my favorite genres, and this book reinforced that.

I also love how well Alex and Ely complement each other, and their grumpy/sunshine dynamic.

Also, the mental health representation means a lot to me, it is pretty rarely that we see such topics being represented in books, and I love how authors are incorporating them into their stories nowadays.

Leonor, once again I’ve fallen IN LOVE with one of your books and their characters.

Review:
I have to be honest, I almost DNF'd this book because of the MMC. There was such a disconnect with what the other characters were saying about him and the person we were reading about. BUT I am so glad that I pushed through and continued to read their story. Once we find out what's going on, things click and we get to meet this person we were told about. And I cannot say enough about the FMC. She is fat and knows that she looks good. She was a delight. I'm excited to read further books from this author.

Quotes:
“That you need to be active in what you choose for yourself to get things to change. The places where you have agency are the places where you can be purposeful. Active. Bitterness means you don't think things can change."

“But now he defies our agreement, and he dares be less of an ass and is more like a grump who can be quite sweet, like a stern brunch daddy."

“"Alex is— lightning. He's wind I can't see unless it's shaking a tree. When he's sweet, he's the coziness of hearing the rain fall on the roof while you're under heavy blankets.”

He got me a seat belt adapter without asking and without notice and I almost melted right there and then, when I saw.

This book has 2 of my worst tropes and I enjoyed it a lot. Leonor Soliz has become an auto-read or auto-buy author. Again the writing, wonderful, simple.

I read this during August with the plus size readathon on Instagram! I loved stepping out of my comfort zone with coworkers to lovers, it’s not always my fave trope bc I find it to be stressful. HOWEVER — grumpy/sunshine is where it’s at and this book delivers on this.

I loved the discussion of mental health, specifically from the MMC pov, but that it was a positive discussion. I would definitely pick up more of this authors books!
