As an advocate for disability this was an eye opening account. I enjoyed each story. Read it!  Life changing!

This is a collection of stories that everyone can benefit from reading.

Alice Wong has created a collection of stories from disabled people and disability advocates that can successfully serve tween and teen readers. The stories were not extremely complex and often introductory to the disability being discussed, making the content of the book great for younger readers. There is complexity in the experiences and emotions throughout each story, and the way that Alice has woven the 17 first-person stories together to create this anthology is rich with inclusion and representation. I am looking forward to recommending this to youth readers as well as reading the full version myself.

Young readers edition was super short. I should read the full length version.

Really engaging and compelling! I haven't read the ~adult~ version so I'm not sure what's changed for the young readers edition but this would be great for abled and disabled teens and adults alike to just get different perspectives.

I haven't read the original version, so I'm not sure how it compares ( I think it is the same just a shortened version with less pieces in it?). But, the pieces that they chose to include in this version are great reads. I have a love-hate relationship with anthologies, because a lot of the times some pieces are just way better than others, but this wasn't the case here. This book features all kinds of disabilities from a diverse group and is a necessary book for readers of all ages.
