I didn't like this one quite as much as I expected to based on the cover. However, it is definitely usable in the future for a storytime.
ADORABLE pictures, super awkward rhyming. Also strangely long for how little's going on.
I read this for a preschool storytime about the library. I had never heard of the Tom Chapin song before, but once I realized this was based on that song, I looked it up and find it quite catchy and delightful. I love the pictures in this, and it has a fun refrain.
This book is absolutely adorable! It can also be sung, so it will be a great one for storytime. Read and sing as all your favorite characters come to life in the library!
great story for pre-k through early elementary, loved the cute illustrations based on the traditional "Library Song"
Cute and repetitive...does seem like the folks writing the story haven't been in a library anytime recently which made me appreciate it much less.
The illustrations for this book were cute and the protagonist was great, but I have to agree with other reviewers that the books in the book could use a revision, and the text/song (which admittedly I have never heard) didn't flow at all to me!
Love song to libraries and kid-sized literary allusions.
Do yourselves a favor and read this book with the music. You won't regret it, unless you can't get the song out of your head. "I'm going down to the library..." LOVE IT!
