4.5 stars.

Slow to start, but once the story picked up I didn't want to put the book down.

Intoxicating magic, compelling twists and turns, fallacies tucked into corners and dramatically exposed at the last minute. I cannot wait for the sequel.

If you love urban fantasies, complex relationships and intricate plots - then this is for you!

I enjoyed reading this book, and I do intend to read the rest of the series - the first book is definitely not meant to stand alone in my opinion.

It took me a while to actually get into this book. The beginning is quite slow, maybe a tad too slow for me to get hooked straight away. I was interested in the concept though so I kept picking it back up. Once i was past the first 100 or so pages I struggled to put the book down. Once it had it's fingers on my it wouldn't let me go. The author paints London in a way I myself have experience and it's a beautiful homage to the little spark of magic you can find at every corner in this beautiful city.
The very open ending had me wanting more. The author found an incredible way of resolving the key issues of the story while simultaneously introducing new threads I'm sure we all would keenly follow.
