This book was a ride! Tons of character development through Julia and Bryce. My favorite part about the book was how it was duel pov. You also get the feelings from both characters during the same situation. Unfortunately, I did prefer the movie over the book. The movie sums it up perfectly so then when I read the book it felt slow.

I read this to one of my 7th grade classes and they loved it, as did I. The story is full of humor, romance, and life lessons. The story is told from two different perspectives, Bryce and Julianna, and how their lives intersect. The title of the book plays a huge roll in the story but you will just have to read it to find out...

This book was an easy read and really entertaining. Getting to see two perspectives of most of the key events in the story was really interesting, and I felt like each character had a distinct voice and personality that really came out in the alternating chapters. I also think it was really interesting that while they each saw some situations in different ways, or had different memories of events, they seemed to hint at also knowing what the other might be feeling in many cases. I think the alternating point of views really worked because the characters were so well developed, and I thought it was really cool that even though the alternating chapters usually covered the same events, it never felt like you knew what was going to happen already, because the actual characters' experiences and thoughts were so different.

Altamente recomendable

Cute read. A bit problematic but what do you expect from early 2000 lit.

Saw the film and had wanted to read the book ever since. The film is incredibly faithful to the book. The very end is slightly different, the book ends a little bit earlier than the film. Very good writing, Van Draanen's great at writing kids. Very believable and relatable.
