Write this with my 11-year-old daughter. Great book for preteens and teens. Fun, funny, good messaging, strong female character, who is different but of confidence and uniqueness. Excellent read.

Cute. Adorable. And just made my heart flutter.
Reminiscing those days of having a crush at school.

Hahaha. Easy read. Movie adaptation is cute too.

Quite literally finished this book in a day, this book had be FLIPPED out >:’)

I have to say this is one of my favorite romances that has happened in a while in a completely unexpected way. Where to begin.. I love the characters themselves. There are EXTREMELY likable ones and EXTREMELY dislikable ones. Props to the author on that one, the connection I had with each character, good or bad, was very extreme! I love the contrasting POV’s and they are beautifully written! I really like how this also has a coming of age theme within the book, and truly see the characters grow as the book progresses. I have so many favorites about this book, BUT one of my favorite were about Uncle David. I connected on a personal level to this because my sister is challenged in a similar way. The way it is described is very accurate and real, and throughout the story I remember I had the same instances as Juli. One MAJOR thing in this book that I love is assuming and comparing. I am a person who very rarely judges anyone else. I grew up in a household that is extremely judgmental and the way Bryce had picked that up from his dad and had a realization later reminded me of my experience with that. There are so many lessons taught throughout this book, but that is one of my favorite.

Hmm. You guys know me, I normally give books a rating between 2.5 and 4. But the last book I reviewed I gave a 5, which means that I obviously must have loved it. And I hope this doesn’t seem like I’m not criticizing the books in a proper way, but if I am to give an honest review of Flipped, I would also have to give it a 5. But let me explain why in this review.

The book Flipped doesn’t start off in a slow manner, no, it actually starts off fast paced and hyped! Like, I mean, within the first 3 pages of the book I was already hooked. I think it must’ve been the authors writing style along with their ability to create an image within the readers mind.

When a reader starts this book, they begin off with Bryce’s point of view, and you just see his view on how this girl is an annoying person with no life other than basically stalking him. But then in the next chapter you get her point of view! And what does this do? It gives you a second point of view, it allows you to see both sides of the story, and man, the stories really change. It’s just like in reality, if there’s two people, their stories will never be exactly the same, unless it was rehearsed.

So that is a beautiful thing that the author added into their book! They made it so that you can see different points of views, and be able to decide which one you connect to with the most.

On the back of the book it says that this book is great for people who have either fallen in or out of love. But I have done neither of those, and I still loved it. It made me feel so happy! And it was funny! But not only that, it was realistic.

My family has never been that rich, we haven’t been able to buy special things, Christmas is normally little things, which I love! Because I would rather have a loving family like Julianna Baker has, than have money and things like Bryce does in the book. I think that’s something that made me love this book as well, I felt so connected to Julianna Baker’s story. I felt like I finally had someone who understood me, well at least someone from a book. I just felt so connected to her which made me love the book even more!

I think the main reason that I gave this book 5 stars is because of how much I connected to it, and how much I related to Julianna Baker. I even cried in a few places, not many books can make me cry because of memories, many books make me cry for the characters, but this book made me cry because of my own situations in life. I also cried for Julianna Baker because I couldn’t stand how she was treated. I won’t say how she was treated as I don’t wish to spoil the book for you, but I will let you know that this book is definitely worth reading! You should definitely add it to your TBR list.

I know, my review has been very mushy gushy but that’s my honest view on this book.

If you want some technical reasons for giving this book 5 stars, then I will say that the book had amazing grammar, punctuation, and managed to flip perspectives very well.

That is what I strongly believe about this book. And I hope you will check it out!

A quick and easy read which is exactly what I wanted.
Great book and so lovely to have read it after the movie.
I appreciate the changes the movie made but I loved reading about the dog and the closer relationship between Bryce and his grandfather.

I adored this book-what an unexpected, fabulous surprise! Great characters, fun conflicts, and fabulous life lessons in this adorable, engaging, coming-of-age story. Great for middle schoolers who love realistic fiction.
