a cute and light read. Bryce is literally a common boy in romantic stories. Julianna has changed lots and so has Bryce. That convinced me that all characters are *human*.
again, i have to say that this book is perhaps a universally loved :) and i really enjoyed it.

4.5 āļø I adore the movie and I can see why based on its original material. This book is so cute!! I love the interactions between Juli and Bryce and the character development both of them go through in this charming coming-of-age story. I loved how normal their two families were and the hardships they experience. All very relatable even in modern time.

I don’t think I will ever know why I love this book so much and I honestly don’t think I want to know. I just know that I love it and I always will and I always have. I’ve read it more times than I can count and I still cry every time. I think about this book all the time. I’m positive that this book has contributed significantly to who I am today. Sure- it’s not a literary masterpiece, but I think it’s perfect.

I actually haven’t read it for about five years, and it’s interesting to notice all of the things I missed when I was younger. I relate to it in a completely different way now. Things that I brushed past in middle school are all of a sudden direct reflections of my high school experience and my fears for the future. I can’t really explain it I think.

All I know is that I love this book so much that I can’t properly put it into words. I want a sycamore tree tattooed on my body. I will NEVER watch the movie because I KNOW that it would be impossible to visually portray this book in a way that isn’t insulting to me. I can’t believe I didn’t reread it for five years.
