Ink is the prequel to a paranormal reverse-harem and the first book I have read by Ellen Mint.
The start of the book started off a little slow but it didn't take long for the heat or the laughter to warm up.
For those of you that pick a book by it's cover, personally I like this cover and it does keep drawing me to it.
I really enjoyed Layla and Ink's characters and I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

This prequel doesn't hold back as you are thrust into one heck of a steamy scene from the bringing. Seeing a different spin within the paranormal genre is always a bonus so I'm excited to see where this series goes.

This was a fun short, fast read prequel. We get to meet FMC (Layla) and her hot MMC (Ink), how they met, why they were brought together, and see their fun 'chemistry'.

Layla learns she is more than a nursing student and Ink isn't a male escort paid for by her friends for her birthday. Which btw, she is now 25, Happy Birthday and Happy Halloween all rolled up into one!

I look forward to seeing where the rest of the series takes us and how much more the temperature rises.

There is no slow burn in this book. It starts off strong and spicy. Even though small it is packed with action and beginning to show character personalities. The end leaves you wanting to read the rest of the series. I would give this book a 4 for spicyness and a 4.5 for overall read.

Thanks to the author for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The writing style in this book was lovely! I could easily lose myself in the story and the pages and I was excited every time to keep reading.

I'm a fan of stories with witches, magic and other fantasy-creatures, so this book was definitely in my genre.

The erotic layer was nice as well, all though I would've loved for the first 50% and the last 50% to be swapped: Layla getting to know about herself and Ink first would've been better, in my opinion.

I would love to learn more about Layla, her history, her life and where this story is going.

This is a very steamy story that is a fast paced and easy read. The banter is entertaining and the humor kept me laughing. I really enjoyed Ink and Layla together. I am really excited for the series after reading this prequel.

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

All Layla wanted was to spend her Halloween birthday alone, at home. However, when an incredibly handsome man in a red thong appears, she thinks her friends have splurged for an extra birthday treat. Initially planning to throw tall, naked and handsome out on his arse, she changes her mind and decides that it would be rude to try her gift before returning it. What she doesn't count on is finding out that she is more than what she is and that the world is not as she knows it.

This is a super cute starter to what promises to be a wonderful addition to the paranormal reverse harem genre. Initially I felt like the steam came on a bit thick, but it worked well for this story as our protagonist believes that the man who has appeared in her apartment is a prostitute that her friends bought her for her birthday. So the whole sex with a stranger thing isn't as off putting as it first appears. My rating and opinion of this story went up when the story progresses and we learn more about the strange man and our FMC. It has me super intrigued and I'm definitely keen to learn more.

For a short story, it can be hard to get a proper read on characters as we don't have a lot of time to get to know them. At first I wasn't too keen on Layla, but she grew on me and I'm definitely interested in reading more of her story and seeing what happens from here. The man that we meet seemed a bit flat, but I feel like it is intentional because his assumptions about Layla were wrong, so I feel like he was putting on a bit of a front to hide his true intentions. Though I could be wrong. I'm hoping that the friend circle we met in this prequel carry through to the main series because I was intrigued by their characters and I'm keen to learn more.

All in all, I feel like this was a wonderful introduction to what promises to be a riveting paranormal reverse harem series. Sign. Me. Up.
